5Scanav.com is a cunning browser hijacker related to the InternetAntivirusPro rogue anti-spyware. 5Scanav.com adds something new to malicious activities of hijackers because it may fake the “My computer” window. This fabricated window will always display two hard disks (C & D), even despite the fact that your actual disks may be entitled in a different way. The bogus “My computer” interface will contain the pre-determined deceptive information about threats that were ‘detected’ as a result of a system scan which is run in real time. This rogue Windows scan is claimed to be provided by InternetAntivirusPro which is wrongfully marketed as the “official partner” or the operating system.
